Quality of service :  I was satisfied with the verbal comments and feedback on the day, but the written document was really disappointing. There were too many obvious errors such as incorrect name and address of property suggesting a cut and paste job. There were also inaccuracies in the description of the property. I was satisfied with one section of concern and the recommendation given. Following a complaint and a list of inaccuracies, a new copy was sent out to me. More care was needed before sending a professional looking document to a client.
Value for money :  Overall, I was disappointed but do not regret having the survey done.
Professionalism :  The finished document was not of an acceptable standard.

Quality of service :  Once the day of survey had been arranged - 15th October - and payment made the company were not quite so communicative. The time between survey and receipt of report took approx 14 working days which is a little longer that I expected. I was led to initially believe that the Homebuyer Report would be out in four working days after the survey - 21st October. This did not happen. I then made contact as to when I could expect to receive the survey and was told that it would be on 26th October. When this did not happen. I became suspicious as to whether the survey had been done and if so whether I would ever receive a report. I eventually received the report on 4th November. The report was well written and provided good detail on the state of the property. I would suggest that McCallum's simply need to be honest, from the outset, as to how long approximately it will take them to produce a report. People can accept this but if this is not clearly explained early on then customers can quite easily become frustrated and disgruntled if they think they are being led along with the seeming possibility of the report never being produced. This perception can be reinforced by McCallum's not having a good website with plenty of good customer feedback. They just need to improve a bit on their communication and portrayal to customers as they just presently can come across as being dodgy when that is obviously not the case!

Andy conducted a survey at short notice, saving us valuable time and easing stress as we had already been let down by two other surveyors. Quality of service :  The job was not carried out by Andy and this wasn't made clear initially. We wrote to Andy asking questions to be covered by the survey but are unsure if our concerns were passed on.
Value for money :  We feel our concerns were not specifically addressed as requested
Professionalism :  We did not receive replies to our emails only terms and conditions. It would be better to be upfront with the customer at the start saying that it may not be carried out by the person who has contacted the customer. It would also benefit by replying to concerns raised prior to the survey. That said the person who did carry out the survey contacted us to offer to answer questions that the survey may have raised and we have spoken to him. He has been helpful , courteous and available.
